Kia ora e te whānau

It has been all go this last two weeks.  Raffle ticket money coming in, white elephant goodies being delivered and all whilst trying very hard to forget the huge amounts of chocolate for the chocolate wheel that is stored close by! What a tremendous amount of work the Fete committee have undertaken to ensure this is a successful event to be proud of. I was reminded that the Fete was initially organised to bring the community together. It certainly meets this objective.  I look forward to seeing many of you there on Sunday.

The pool is now closed for the season. A huge thank you to John Willats for coordinating the after hours pool roster and the many helpers for their dedication and effort to provide pool keys, pool maintenance and testing, taking the covers off and keeping the pool area clean. Without these dedicated people we would not be able to open the pool to the community outside of school hours. Keep an eye out for the dedicated list of people in the Board newsletter coming out at the end of the term.

Can you please ensure that you refrain from parking in the Shopping Centre car park for extended periods of time (e.g. school events, meetings on site, long term wait time).  The shops are getting complaints from their customers of no parking available, especially when school events are on, and as much as they don’t want to, they will tow vehicles if car parks are being taken up by school users. We are working with the council to look at parking around the area.

Thank you for your cooperation.

We are updating our school website and would love your input! Please take a few minutes to complete our survey and share your suggestions to help us make  improvements  by Friday, 4 April. Website Update Survey

Jeanette Neal will be leaving our school at the end of Term 1 to pursue an exciting new opportunity, outside of education as a Financial Advisor. While we are deeply saddened to see her go, we are thrilled for Jeanette as she embarks on this new chapter in her career. During her time with us, Jeanette has been a dedicated and invaluable member of our school community. Her strong work ethic, exceptional organisational skills, and commitment to her students have left a lasting positive impact. We are confident that these qualities will continue to shine in her new role, and we wish her nothing but success in her future endeavours.

We wish to thank Jeanette for her years of service to our school community. With one child still attending West Melton School it won't be the last we see of her I am sure.

We are excited to welcome Kate Purdon, who will be joining our Kōwhai Community at the beginning of Term 2. Watch the Facebook space for an introduction to Kate early next term.

Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in our school community. Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
