  • Disco - Friday 6 November - Note, NEW DATE - Note, subject to being in Alert Level 1 - 5pm Juniors (yrs 0-4), 6.45pm Seniors (yrs 5-8) - at School, Wharenui

  • Pet Day - Thursday 12 November - at School - look out for the coffee lady and ice blocks/ice cream table

  • Walkathon - Friday 27 November - 11.30am to 12.30pm - at School, “the block around school” - funds raised from this event will go towards Literacy Resources

  • Fete - Sunday 28th March - 10am to 2pm - at School

  • WMS 150th Celebrations - Labour Weekend 2021

Our Team -

Anyone keen to be our Chairperson? This role is still vacant.

We are currently a team of 17 friendly and enthusiastic parents - Amanda, Emma, Sharon, Mike, Pip, Kerryn, Abbey, Rosie, Jeanette, Cynthia, Janelle, Amy, Sarah, Bec and Tania along with Sonja-Staff Rep and Lissa- Board Rep. New members are always welcome!

Fundraising -

  • Entertainment Books - We’re fundraising with the Entertainment Book APP.

    If you haven’t had one before, this is a great APP with heaps of discounts at local restaurants, cafes, retail outlets, accommodation, car rentals, and tourist attractions.

    Your digital membership can be accessed from up to four different devices so it’s perfect for sharing with friends/family.

  • Fruju Friday - will start again in Term 4 - Friday afternoons on the court - $2 an ice block.

  • Fete - March 2021 - our major fundraiser - if anyone is keen to join the organising committee for this awesome bi-annual event, please have a chat with Hannah at the office.

Funding -

We received 1 funding request before our last meeting, and are delighted to let you know we approved funding for -

  • Yr 7 & 8 Pantomine - assisting with set-up costs

Other funding that we have gifted to be spent during 2020 is -

  • Jump Jam - the purchasing of two new DVDs

  • Literacy Resources - the purchasing of new instructional readers

  • Leadership Badges - the purchasing of additional badges required

  • Healthy eating fund - for activities encouraging healthy eating

  • Rainy day fund - for purchasing of board games/activities to be used when wet days force children to stay inside during breaks.

Pastoral Care Fund -

Another area the FoWMS supports the school and community is through a Pastoral Care Fund. This could be baking, financially, touching base, sharing a coffee, meetings etc. The FoWMS have a Pastoral Care Fund, with the main purpose of the fund being to help support families in our school community in any way necessary.
