Kia ora e te whānau / Greetings West Melton families
Thank you to the parents who have booked in their Ako Conversations for Tuesday 5 or Thursday 7 September. There are still spaces available if you haven’t booked yet. It is a great way to connect with the school and work in partnership to facilitate your child/rens progress in learning. There is an information bubble on how you can do this included in this newsletter.
Awesome work from the Jump Jam team. First place and an opportunity to participate in the National championships later in the year. A big thank you to all involved. Congratulations to the Year 7 and Year 8 Cantamaths teams that competed in a maths competition against other Canterbury schools yesterday. According to Mr Meads they exceeded the points of previous years and were very competitive. Today we have four teams participating in the Zone Rugby and Netball tournament. We wish them all the best.
We have noticed an increase in student and staff absences due to illness this term. We know that during this time of year, sickness can increase, so it’s a timely reminder about the key messages about general hygiene and to stay home if unwell.
The Tī Kōuka building continues to be on track for completion by the end of the term. There is a busy hive of subcontractors coming in and out, laying flooring and autex on the walls. There are super excited children looking through the fence.
Have a great two weeks.
