Emma Shanks - Learning Assistant

Kia ora, my name is Emma Shanks and I am so excited to join the fantastic team of Learning Assistants at West Melton School! I've just moved down to Christchurch from Wellington to be closer to my family and spend as much time as I can with my young nieces and nephew. I've recently graduated from Massey University with a degree in Educational Psychology, learning about how we learn and all of the different ways we can help students to access learning is a passion for me. My other interests are sports, gymnastics, camping, travelling and exploring outdoors with my dog Mack. 

Anita Hawkins - Toetoe Community Kaiako

My name is Anita and I am joining the Toetoe team this year! I am excited to be back in the West Melton community after leaving in 2019 to start my family. I now have three lovely children, Sam (4), Charlotte (2) and Sophie (9 months). I love everything outdoors including tramping, snow sports, and swimming. As a family we walked the Abel Tasman in January, which was a great adventure. I am passionate about teaching and learning and am excited to be back in the classroom again.
