West Melton welcomes....

Lisa McWilliam

Kia Ora Koutou, my name is Lisa McWilliam and I am new to the West Melton learning community this year. I am the tall one with the head full of white hair!I think I may just have found my happy place! Both the staff and the wider community are so friendly and welcoming, it really is a joy to be here.I have been teaching for 35 years across all levels of Primary and Intermediate schooling in both the North and South Island of New Zealand.I am married to my best friend, Andrew, and we have 3 wonderful adult children, one of whom is playing basketball in America. We made 'em big!!!My interests are gardening, reading, long walks along the beach and learning about the by-products of viticulture. My roles at West Melton are many and varied. I am a specialist teacher for a couple of gorgeous students on Mondays, I release Annalyse Bain in Mānuka on Tuesdays and Jane Howden every other Thursday. I can also be found relieving in any of the pods on the days in between so I have the opportunity to get to know many of your great kids.Looking forward to meeting as many of you as I can in the coming weeks and months.Ka kite

Jacob Miles

Kia ora koutou, my name is Jacob Miles and I'm a Learning Assistant here at West Melton School. So far I have been working with the Intermediate Students in the Tōtara block. I love to travel and my passion of history has driven me to visit places like Pearl Harbor in Hawaii and Vietnam. I have played the drums for 10 years now and enjoy playing Cricket, Football and Ultimate Frisbee. I am excited to gather more knowledge through this job as well as learn more about the students at West Melton School.

Bonnie Ngawaka-Edmond

Tēnā koutou katoa,
Ko wai au? Ko Ngāti Rehua - Ngatiwai ki Aotea te iwi, ko Whakapaumahara rāua ko Kawa ngā marae, ko Bonnie Ngawaka-Edmond tōku ingoa.

My name is Bonnie Ngawaka-Edmond and I'm a FAB5 te reo Māori teacher. I have been teaching since 2011, primarily at Southbridge Primary School which is about a 40km drive from West Melton. In 2018, I took a year's leave to undertake a Master of Education in bilingual and immersion teaching. After completely my qualification I began specialised teaching at Southbridge Primary before moving onto teaching at West Melton and Wigram Primary School.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 18-month-year-old daughter. We love to go for walks in various parks with our dog.
I look forward to getting to know the tamariki at West Melton Primary School and their whānau.
