Intermediate Hub Week 3 Overview

Kirsten Russell —

Tena Koutou Katoa,

We have been having a busy couple of weeks getting into the swing of things. It has been great seeing so many of you through interviews- if you have not met with us then please feel free to email your child's teacher to arrange a time to meet with them.

We loved our dress-up day last Tuesday and it was such a hit dancing away to songs from our Production decades.

There are some important things we want you to consider:

Ski Trip:

The permission slip is due tomorrow (Friday) even if you don't want your child to go please fill this in saying no. It is a great help for us and avoids us having to individually ring you to get the permission slip filled in. Below is the link to the permission slip:

Koru Games:

This is approaching fast and we are finalising all the teams and costs as we speak. For those new to this: The Koru Games is a South Island Year 7 & 8 three-day sports tournament hosted by Selwyn Sports Trust in the Selwyn District. AIMS games are the North Island equivalent.

The dates are the 19th, 20th and 21st and it is held at multiple venues across Selwyn, normally held in Prebbleton, Lincoln, and Rolleston. We need lots of parent help to support the multitude of sports opportunities that the pupils have signed up for. If you think you could help for one of these days, then have a conversation with your child and we will send out further information soon requesting help. If you have any questions please contact anna.grainger@lincolnprimary.ac.nz

Production:

Production is coming up fast and we are well underway. We are looking for some props to help support our performances. If you have something you think could help the 50's, 70's, 90's or 2010's (not sure how to say this correctly yet!) then please get in contact with us. Walkmans, boom boxes, T.V.s from any of the eras would be awesome!

Stationery and uniform:

We are noticing an ongoing issue with students not turning up with their pencil cases or the correct uniform. Please ensure your child has the correct tools and uniform to complete the school day.

Attendance:

Just a reminder that we start school at 8:50 am and it is important your child is at school on time so that they are settled and ready to learn.

We understand that sickness is going around but we want to encourage pupils to be at school regularly. Every school day is a big day- each day is building on previous learning and is important for your child's progress. If there are issues or problems please contact your pastoral care teacher so we can support attendance increasing.

Speeches:

Next Friday we have the in-school Year 7 and 8 Speech competition. We worked on speeches last term and now students can put their names forward for this competition. The top Year 7 and 8 students will then be put forward for the Rotary Speech competition.

Attached are some photos of our values winners last week. Well done to these students and also Phoenix who is not pictured here. We also have a selection of photos from our catwalk for our decades.

Please see the individual year group articles and calendar on the side for further information, especially about the upcoming events
