Kuaka Newsletter - 25/05

For the past few weeks we have been creating some notebooks. We use them as pocket dictionaries. Every day when we do THE CODE we get tasks for each day, on Monday we get three lists of words. We get to choose five words from each list and write them into our notebooks. Then if we need help with spelling instead of going to the teacher we can look in our notebooks.

We got to decorate the notebooks with paper and then we Dura Sealed the cover. We had some people in the class doing them, Sophie, Emily, Briar, Caitlyn, Jella. The duraseal was to protect the cover. Our notebooks had to have our names on them and a cool design.

These are some examples of our notebooks and our friends' notebooks.

Indi - Cross Country

Cross country was week 4. We trained by running around the field to see how many laps we could get and if we could improve. We trained really hard and if we beat laps we got to be a cheerleader the next day. The day Cross Country came we were ready. Everyone was in their House colours. We warmed up with Miss Rogatski before the race. We did stretches, high knees, and danced to karaoke. Then we went to start the race. Mr Prisco said he will stand behind us and clap the blocks together. Me and Molly ran off, we were in the lead. I thought we were cutting half way then a Year 8 said “no go the other way!” so I quickly had to go back and run the right way around!
