Emma Thorpe —

I have lived in Lincoln since 1998 and joined LPS a few years later. I trained at Otago University and have a Masters in Consumer and Applied Science. My teacher training was in Dunedin, where I trained as a high school teacher, and had early experience at East Otago High  School and a  few intermediates in Christchurch.

I teach in the Technology Team. I really enjoy the Year7/8s  as they are so keen to learn. I love watching their understanding develop and the sparkle in their eyes when they leave with a new found skill that they didn’t know they had.

My goal is for all students to enjoy their time, feel valued in our space, and ensure they know that they all have something to offer the community.

This year I am looking forward to working alongside students as we all navigate our new PYP programme to work towards creating global learners.

After hours I love to spend time with my husband Adrian (a lecturer at Lincoln University).

My three sons, Hugh, Arthur and Edgar (who all attended Lincoln Primary) and their partners bring great joy to our lives  as we weave times together to make new memories.  My passions are painting, walking outdoors, board games, trying out new recipes, and watching movies. I am easily spotted at school, wearing pink and laughing a lot.
