Temporary access change to the Gerald Street / Maurice Street carpark
Please note that the entrance to the Gerald Street / Maurice Street car park from Gerald Street will be temporarily closed for one day today - Wednesday 18 March. The car park will remain open, with vehicles still able to enter and exit via the Maurice Street entrance. Pedestrian access to the car park will also remain available.
This temporary closure is required to allow crews to safely connect a pipe across the car park entranceway on Gerald Street and remove the existing sump.
Thank you for your understanding while we carry out this necessary work.

New start date for night works
The night works will now be taking place on Sunday 22 March, crews will begin installing new streetlights along Gerald Street between Kildare Terrace and West Belt as part of ongoing improvements in the town centre. Work will run between 7pm and 7am for about a week, with no work on Friday or Saturday nights.
Connetics, who will be completing this work, typically carry out this type of work at night so that businesses and daytime traffic are less affected. Where possible, the noisiest tasks will be completed earlier in the evening to reduce disturbance for nearby residents.
You may notice some noise and additional lighting during the evenings, but the team will do their best to keep this to a minimum.
Traffic will reduce to one lane with temporary traffic lights in place, and a 30km/h speed limit will help keep everyone safe. Footpath access will remain open throughout. Thank you for your patience while this important upgrade is carried out.
Rates relief application for businesses
The Selwyn District Council has approved a targeted rates relief for businesses financially affected by stage one of the Lincoln Town Centre construction. This support recognises the short-term disruption some businesses have experienced and is aimed at helping those most impacted. Eligibility and application details, including how property owners can apply on behalf of tenant businesses, are outlined in the Rates section of the Lincoln Town Centre FAQs, along with the online application form.

Upcoming milling work on Gerald Street
As we move out of the underground stormwater works, we will begin road milling. Road milling will begin in sections of Gerald Street next week, including areas near the medical centre end and the West Belt end of the street. Milling is an early step in road renewal that involves removing the existing road surface so it can be replaced later with a new layer.
This work is carried out using a large machine called a mill. As it moves along the road, the machine carefully grinds up the old surface and removes it, preparing the area for the next stage of construction. You may notice the machine working steadily along the street and material being collected as the surface is lifted.
Milling will take place under the current traffic management that is already in place, and access through the area will continue to be managed to keep road users and workers safe.
Stage two and three potholing work
From Tuesday 24 March, we will be carrying out underground service investigations referred to as potholing along Gerald Street, from the Springs Road roundabout to approximately 45 Gerald Street, for around two weeks.
Potholing is being undertaken to accurately identify the location of existing underground services, to support the detailed design of Stages Two and Three of the Lincoln Town Centre and reduce the risk of conflicts with new infrastructure.
A hydrovac truck will be used to create small investigation holes, which can be noisy, before each site is backfilled and resurfaced. Two-way traffic and pedestrian access will be maintained, although some temporary traffic management and parking restrictions will be needed.
Properties and businesses in the nearby area will receive a start work notice. If you have specific access needs, such as deliveries or medical visits, please contact Fulton Hogan on 0800 762 334 or cant.info@fultonhogan.com.
