After completing a Bachelor of Education Degree and a Diploma of Teaching at Massey University, I taught both Primary and Secondary school students in New Zealand before teaching in Switzerland, Thailand and Australia. I began teaching at Lincoln Primary School in 2021 and have really enjoyed teaching our senior students. This year I am teaching Year 7.

I have a love for learning and really enjoy that light bulb moment when a student gains a deeper understanding of a concept or a new skill. This makes teaching a really rewarding profession. I am passionate about providing a safe, caring and nurturing classroom environment where all students are included and valued. I strive to create enrichment and extension opportunities for students so that they have the scope to reach their potential in areas that interest their intellectual curiosity.

During my teaching career, I have been involved in speech, poetry and writing competitions that encourage students to explore their creativity and inner voice. Enabling students to have the confidence to express themselves is important in nurturing future global citizens.

In my spare time, I love bush walking, swimming and cycling with my husband and four children around the beautiful Selwyn area. I have coached gymnastics in the past and enjoy encouraging students to participate in sporting activities.
