‘Static Energy’
My class did a project about Static Energy. We had a balloon and rubbed on our heads. My buddy's hair went crazy and everyone was screaming and playing with the balloons. One of the balloons got stuck in the vent, it was really funny.
I enjoyed it when we rubbed the balloons on our heads. My hair went crazy!!

Goodbye Mr Thomson
Mr Thomson has been teaching since 2016. He has been teaching for up to 8 years and is sadly leaving Lincoln Primary on Friday the 16th of August 2024, Term 3 Week 4. The Kapa Haka group had prepared an amazing performance including a Haka and 3 beautiful songs for the farewell of Mr Thomson.
He rang the bell and the Kapa Haka group did an amazing Haka again.
I wish Mr Thomson could stay longer. He was such a good teacher and rugby coach. He was one of the best teachers in the whole school. We will all miss you, Mr Thomson. We will try to make this the best last few days of your time at LPS/Lincoln Primary.

Theatre Show
The theatre show is where a group of people came to our school and their names were James, Connie and Jorja (pronounced Georgia). Their company was called the NZ Playhouse. James, Connie and Jorja performed a wonderful show for us. It was about a reluctant dragon. They described it wonderfully and it was funny. We would love to give you the experience that we got to live in our school hall. It started with Sam (Connie) coming home from the library with a book about dragons. Sam's dad wanted her to film a video on his MAD RAD DAD YouTube channel. Then Sam's mum comes in yelling there's a dragon on the hill. Sam asked Mum to describe what the dragon looked like and its personality. Sam looked through her book and found out what type of dragon it was, the long claw-scaled dragon that was the rare kind. Then Sam wanted to go up the hill to try and meet the dragon at the top her mum wanted her to stay so she wouldn't get eaten by the rare creature. Before she set off her dad wanted to go with her so he could get a million views on his MAD RAD DAD channel but Sam said no. By herself, she went to the top of the hill. She was so puffed when she got to the top of the hill that she blurted out. It was such a steep hill!
Dragon where are you, Sam? The dragon poked her head out of the cave to see who was there. It was Sam the dragon. It was so scared that it ran back into her cave!!! Then they got to know each other a bit more and now they are good friends. The Mister Beast Battler was too afraid to fight a danity-long claw-scale dragon.

JUMP JAM TERM 3 2024
This year we got chosen for the 2024 Lincoln primary jump jam team! Our school has two teams. One year 5&6 team and a year 7&8 team. In the year 5, 6 team we had:
Zoe. K “I think it was really cool that both teams got 2nd.”
Lily. W “ I thought it was really fun competing against other schools and just being able to work well with my teacher and my friends!”
Gabrielle. C “I really loved performing in front of everyone.”
Claire. P “I loved competing in the competition and training.”
Georgia. DS. “I loved competing and practising the dance and coming second.”
Maddi.S “I liked working with my teammates and getting second.”
Isla. H “I loved the whole competition and training.”
Evie. P “I liked getting second place.”
Emmerson. C “I liked working with everyone. And being a strong team.”
Eden. T “I liked learning the dance.”
Eden. M “I liked performing and doing the actual jump jam. I also liked coming second.”
Mrs Vaka (coach/ teacher) “ I am so proud of how well each team performed!”
Our team was called the Lincoln Party Rockers, and the year 7&8 team was the Lincoln Ice Breakers. We practised every day of the week except for Tuesday. We did performances in front of our classes and syndicates. We worked and worked on our dance, facials, chants and energy. We even had Brett Fairweather (the creator of Jump Jam) come in to give us some tips on our dance but he said “You are an excellent team you just needed more chants!”.
Our show was on the 10th of August 2024. It was on a Saturday afternoon from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. We thought that we probably weren't gonna get a place in the competition but that all changed. Once we all finished our performances we went and sat on the stage in lines… and as Brett was calling out second place we crossed our fingers and hoped that we were going to get either second or first. And all of a sudden he said “Second place goes to drumroll, please ……….. THE LINCOLN PARTY ROCKERS We all screamed in excitement!! But the cool part about it is that the other team, (Lincoln Ice Breakers) ALSO GOT SECOND In their competition!!!!!!! Also, shout out to Mrs Vaka for being the best coach EVER!!!!!!!!!! Because both her teams got second!!
Thanks and congrats to both Lincoln teams!
