Creatives in Schools
We have been successful in applying for the Creatives In Schools Project facilitated by the Ministry of Education.
Creatives in Schools aims to provide creative learning experiences that enhance the wellbeing of students and ākonga and develop their knowledge and skills in communication, collaboration, and creative thinking and practice. In essence this means that we will have an artist in residence, Ira Mitchell, who will work with our tamariki throughout Term 1 to create a mural for the end of Te Waihora (end of building on North Belt and James Street). The mural will reflect our unique environment as well as the cultural diversity at our kura. We are keen to have input from our whānau and community in the development of this project.
We have titled our project ‘Moemoeā’ because we believe this is a true vision/summary of what we are trying to achieve. ‘Moemoeā’ means ‘Dream, Hope, Vision’.
We would really appreciate it if you could complete this form and share your ideas for the project with us.
