School Band and Music Lessons

Tutors and Lessons 

In addition to the weekly 8am Prep band rehearsal, all students have a weekly 30-minute group music lesson during school. Students will learn to read music and will be taught correct technique on their instruments. Lessons are taught by qualified professional musicians who are passionate about teaching their instrument. 

Private music lessons are available for Bradley Grainger is offering guitar or ukelele lessons for children who are in Years 3 to 8 at Lincoln Primary School.  Spaces are limited. Lessons will be held during school on Thursdays. Lessons are $35 for 30mins. Band Rehearsals 

Prep Band will rehearse once a week, before school. We encourage children to attend every rehearsal and ask each member of the band to help set up and pack up the chairs & music stands. Like any good team, a band needs all its members to participate fully with enthusiasm, commitment, and respect. Students should bring their instrument and music books to each rehearsal. Please email your school band conductor if your child is unable to attend a rehearsal.

Trips and Performances 

Throughout the year band members will have the opportunity to take part in trips, workshops, camps festivals and performances which are an integral part of the programme.  We will give you ample notice of these events and encourage you to come along and support your child.

School Band Fees 

We work hard to keep the fees as affordable as possible. The fee you pay goes towards paying for the tutors and conductors, administering the programme, providing music, purchasing and maintaining the musical instruments. The fee for the programme is $200/term for each student. Fees must be paid 7 days in advance of lessons each term. A $25 deposit paid by Dec 1st will hold your instrument place in the new prep band.
