What’s In My Control and What’s Not

Pip Macdonald —

Too often we worry about things that are out of our control creating unnecessary stress. We can lead a much healthier life if we focus our physical and mental energy on things that we can influence. Everything else can distract us and pull us away from achieving our personal happiness.

If your child has their own worries then think about having conversations with them about whether those worries are something that they can control or not. This is a great way to build resilience around things that we can’t control and help us move on. Teach your child/children to focus on what they can control as that’s their responsibility and action. This can lead to a growth mindset, kindness, and positive relationships.
