Road Patrol
Our Road patrol provides a really important service to help our children arrive at, and leave, school safely.
Our road patrol relies on a wonderful group of parents who supervise the crossing in the mornings. A huge thank you to these mums and dads for helping to keep our children safe!
Remember that the road patrol operates from 8.30 am until 8.55 am and then again from 3.00 pm until 3.15 pm. Outside of these times, the crossing is not a marked pedestrian crossing and vehicles are not obliged to stop for people waiting to cross.
We currently are two supervisors short. If you think that you could give half an hour of your time once a fortnight email johnr@prebbleton.school.nz.
Other ways that you can support road safety around the school
1. Be a good role model.... use the crossing.
2. Park safely. There have been a number of people parking illegally on yellow lines and over driveways. It has also been noted that people using the church car-park are not always parking considerately.
3. Remember that the staff car-park and school driveway are not drop-off zones.
4. It is great to see parents (and grandparents) walking, biking and scootering with their children.
5. Be patient on wet days as there is always more traffic around.
Thank you for helping to keep our children safe!
