Maths Week 2023

Chris McDermott —

Maths Week was established by the New Zealand Association of Mathematics Teachers in 1998.

The aim of Maths Week is to: encourage students’ engagement with mathematics and statistics and reveal the fun side of maths and the everyday places where mathematics and statistics exist.

This week at Prebbleton School we have a number of exciting initiatives to celebrate Maths Week. We have had a maths question of the day for our students to attempt. Unfortunately due to the weather we have had to postpone our whole school Maths Day until next Thursday the 17th of August. Children will participate in a number of maths activities such as graphing, playing maths games, a scavenger hunt and designing and making their own maths collage art. We will do this in our house groups and are excited to have fun learning maths together next week.

Don’t forget tonight we have our family evening with Rob Proffit - White from 5.15pm - 6.15pm in the school hall. See you there!
