Team 3-4 had a busy but fun filled term 1. Read all about what we have been learning.

During Term 1 Team 3-4 had a social sciences learning focus. We began by learning more about Te Tiriti o Waitangi and then the Alpha Centurians came to visit. This helped us to understand what it was like for Māori when the British came to New Zealand. We learnt lots about the different weapons, armour and fortifications that were used during conflicts over time before designing and making our own armour and weapons. We had a fantastic day at the end of the term when we had the great Maunga Box War. This time Summit were victorious, smashing through Basecamp’s fort to find their grab-bag treasure.

We have begun Term 2 by focusing on ANZAC Day. We have written some interesting poems and created some art by painting fields of poppies. Our artwork taught us about perspective and how we create this in pictures. We will be sharing examples of both our poems and art in the assembly tomorrow.
