Being Kind
Last week was Random Acts of Kindness Week and it was lovely to see many acts of kindness around the school. Tamariki gave out positive affirmation notes to friends and neighbours, love heart stickers were given to students on Valentine's Day, videos were shared in class on what being kind does to us and the students had a task over the weekend to randomly help out at home without being asked.
Being kind is free to do, not only does it lift other people up, but it also lifts you up. If we follow the golden rule of ‘treat others the way you want to be treated', then there would be more happiness in our world. Kindness can release feel-good hormones and reduce stress and anxiety in our bodies.
It’s always good to remind ourselves and our tamariki to stay kind and ‘warm’ other people's hearts.
