40 Hour Famine

Alli Williams —

We’re doing this year’s World Vision 40 Hour Challenge to change everything for kids who urgently need clean water. Every day in Malawi, 11 children under 5 die from diseases related to dirty water. Together, we can change that. Last year, we reached more than 100,000 people with clean water. This year, we can reach even more.

If your child is in Year 5 - Year 8, they can sign up (with your permission) for the 2023 40 Hour Famine as part of the Prebbleton School team.

40 Hour Famine participants can choose their own challenge, e.g. 40 km in 40 hours (walk, run, ride, swim, skip or row) individually or in a team, or collecting water in a bucket - (no inside taps allowed!) and using it every time you drink, cook, wash or flush.  There are lots more ideas on the website 40hour.org.nz and you can follow @40hourfaminenz to use their random challenge generator!

Senior ākonga are looking forward to hearing from one of the World Vision Youth Ambassadors on Wednesday 24th May.

If your year 5-8 child is keen to participate in the 40 Hour Famine this year, sign them up with this link to this permission form.

You can also visit our Prebbleton School Team Page to sign up and/or donate.
