Robocup Nationals and Robotics National Online Competitions
For the last three terms, a group of dedicated students have been utilising their break times to build and program robots.
After lots of success at the Canterbury Regional Robocup competition in August, four teams were due to attend the Robocup Nationals in Wellington. Unfortunately, Robocup Nationals were cancelled and combined with the Robotics National Online competition. This meant instead of competing against other teams on the day, each team had to create a video that showcased their robot in their chosen category. Their resilience and dedication paid off with wonderful results.
Milla and Ayla - 1st place Robocup National Junior Theatre Category with their entry of Humpty Dumpty, the real story.
Conrad - 1st place Robotics Online Robotic Art Category with his spirograph art.
While only first places were awarded in the various categories for Robocup Nationals and the Online competition, Prebbleton School also received a special prize for the number of high quality entries that were submitted. This prize is a brand new Spike Prime Robot kit valued at $700.
Congratulations also to: Sam O and Ben G - Senior Rescue category, Celia and Jendi - Junior Rescue and Art categories, Conrad, Max H and Ben O - Junior Rescue category, Max M, Tate, Will - Drag Racing category, as it was their entries combined which resulted in our special prize award.
