ANZAC Day at Burnham
This year our learners across the school have been involved in learning around the importance of ANZAC Day as well as our unique connection and contribution at the Burnham ANZAC Dawn Parade on April 25 each year.
As a school, our theme for our Term 1 learning celebration assembly was centred around the importance of acknowledging those that have served us as a country. We had readings from our students, wreaths that have been created for the dawn service and also the playing of 'The Last Post'. Also during the week, we supported the Templeton Returned Serviceman Association to start off Poppy Week by having poppies available at school each morning and our School Council members Ella, Mary and Eric volunteered two hours at Countdown Rolleston on Friday 16 April supporting the poppy week collection.
Congratulations to the following students and their families who represented Burnham School at his year's Dawn Service held at Burnham Military Camp on Sunday 25 April.
