Welcome to Burnham Primary School, Te Kura o Tiori. Our school is situated in the Selwyn District approximately 7 kilometres south of Rolleston in an open and pleasant semi-rural environment. Everyone is welcome as we do not have a zone!

Burnham School is a full primary, catering for children from Years 1 to Year 8 with the option of being involved in our bilingual programme. We have a talented and experienced teaching team that provides students with the best possible education to meet the needs of an ever-changing world. 

We pride ourselves in having a learning community that is respectful and cooperative as well as having a calm and supportive working atmosphere throughout the school.  All of our students are encouraged to strive for excellence in all that they undertake.

We have eight learning spaces, a school hall, a Learning Support area and a well-stocked Library. The school is very well-resourced with equipment appropriate to modern teaching requirements.

Please do not hesitate to contact us so that we can arrange a time for you to visit and have a look around our school. If you would like to express interest in enrolling your child(ren) please go to our enrolment page. We do not have an enrolment zone at Burnham School.

Our school is well equipped with digital devices such as Chromebooks and iPads. The children use these resources to enhance their learning as well as to share their learning with friends and family.

Parents are encouraged to join us throughout the year for many school activities and events. We value your interest and partnership and this will, in turn, make the time that your child spends at Burnham School both happy and profitable.

Our Mission Statement is “Our school is a place for partnership in learning.” We believe children learn best when there is mutual trust, cooperation, and understanding between parents, teachers, and pupils.
