Sarah Stratton —

What a positive start to the year! We are thrilled at how well all the students have adapted to their new learning spaces and are showing our school values of Respect, Effort and Pride in the classroom and playground!

In Pukekō, students have been using visual art to create self-portraits. They have experimented with lines, shade and colour and their attention to detail is fabulous. Students have been demonstrating the capabilities of self-management by understanding their new classroom routines and being independent learners.

Kōtuku students have been busy getting to know each other and exploring different areas of the curriculum. Individually, students have demonstrated Rangatiratanga - leadership, by teaching the rest of the class something new during our regular Friday 'Teach the Teacher' segment. Kōtuku students have demonstrated Whanaungatanga, by actively being part of a group, and using teamwork and coordination skills during their PE lessons on Net and Wall games.

Tūi students have been working together collectively to finalise their 2023 Integrity Awards Programme - highlighting their ability to demonstrate Kotahitanga through Unity & Co-Operation. They look forward to sharing this with you soon. At Lincoln Technology, students are loving their first 6-week rotation in woodwork. They are currently in the Product Development phase where they are researching and designing a prototype of their chosen woodwork item. Students are showing confidence in taking risks in their learning and are supporting others as a tuakana. They are looking forward to sharing with you, their final products!
