On Wednesday 30th March Ruru Y1/2 and Kererū Y0/1 planned a field trip to Te Ara Ātea (Rolleston Library) and Selwyn Aquatic Centre. All were very excited and had been counting down the days...

Unfortunately our day started with a power cut at the library. Jade, our lovely library lady, packed up lots of fun stuff and brought it all to us! We played games with electronic bots controlling them with iPads, used light boxes to make art, listened to stories, played with Lego and did some colouring.

Then it was time for the bus! High excitement as many of the children had not been on a bus before. We headed for Foster Park and ate our lunch then had a great play on all the playground equipment.

Off to the pool we went. We all got changed and had a fantastic play in the pool and the lazy river. Three parents jumped in with us and played too. Then back into our clothes and back onto the bus for a much quieter trip back to Burnham School.
