Term 1 Celebration Assembly Awards

Yesterday we recognised the special achievements of students across our school. Luckily we were able to finish before the rain!

Congratulations to the following students who received awards at our Term 1 Celebration Assembly.  

School Values Award - This award is presented termly to a student across the school who has demonstrated commitment, and consistency to our term's value focus. This term's value focus was Rangatiratanga

  • Nā Taumutu Runanga Taonga - Quinn (Ruru)

Bilingual Taonga - Presentations - These taonga are presented termly to students who show dedication towards learning Te Reo Māori and respect for protocols.

  • Te Reo Māori Taonga - Lachlan 
  • Tikanga Māori - Maria
  • Niho Taniwha  - Rishal 

REP of the Term - Class Awards - These awards are presented termly to the student in each class who has gained the most REP cards throughout the term.

  • Kēreru - Jacob

  • Kōtuku - Konnor
  • Tuī - Kaisa

Sporting Awards - Years 4-8

  • Yr 7 & 8 Aquatic Skills - Boy - Zavier (Tuī) - for demonstrating enthusiasm in all of his swimming lessons, excellent orientation and propulsion in the water.
  • Yr 7 & 8 Aquatic Skills - Girl - Amelia (Tuī)-for demonstrating excellent skills in rescuing techniques, and safety of self and others in the water.
  • Yr 5 & 6 Aquatic Skills - Boy - Jermaine (Kōtuku) - showing great knowledge around water safety techniques when discussed in class and demonstrating these for others when in the pool.
  • Y 5 & 6 Aquatic Skills- Girl - Peyson (Kōtuku)-showing Effort and Respect in and around the pool. Peyson’s confidence in the pool grew due to the effort she was putting into the lessons.
  • Yr 4 Aquatic Skills - Boy/Girl - Iziah (Pūkeko) - showing the learner action of Effort in the pool. Iziah did his best and tried new things even when they were difficult.

Year 5-8 Swimming Award - This award is presented to the student in Years 5-8 who earns the most points at the annual Zones Swimming level competition and/or Canterbury competition level. Unfortunately this year we are unable to present this award due to the cancellation of these competition events due to Covid-19.

Year 7 & 8 Integrity Awards -These awards recognise students who demonstrate commitment to our learner actions of Respect, Effort and Pride through their learning achievements and contributions school-wide.  Students in Years 7 & 8 work towards bronze, silver and gold levels over the course of the school year and are presented each term as they are earned. This is an annual programme that is re-aligned and reviewed each year.
