Whaea Awhina: Te rūma Pīpīwhararoa

Tuahiwi School —

Whaea Awhina teaches in our Whitireia Year 0-2 class.

Ko Hikurangi te maunga

Ko Waiapu te awa

Ko Horouta te waka

No Ngati Porou nōku

Kia ora koutou, Ko Whaea Awhina tōku ingoa. I am the kaiako for our beautiful Pīpīwharauroa class at Tuahiwi School. I have been teaching for over a decade and have worked in several kura in North Canterbury.

I live in Ōtautahi (Christchurch) with my husband Mark but I was raised in Te Tai Rāwhiti, spending many of my childhood years in Gisborne. My immediate whānau are based now in Christchurch but I have a brother who lives in the Far North of Aotearoa.

I have a real passion for education and have a special love of working with our teina. It is an absolute privilege to be part of the Tuahiwi community and I hope to be a part of this for many years to come.

Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa.
