Well done to Kah'nal, Heretini, and Arabella for Qualifying for the Canterbury Zone Athletics.

The weather was great for the Pegasus Zones athletics last week.  It is fantastic we had a strong group of tamariki to represent Tuahiwi at this event.  A  huge congratulations to all those that qualified to compete with the best of the Pegasus zone; Tayla Eckersley, Te Aroha Shelford, Ayla Davis, Leo Manihera, Rita-May Pohio-Marsh, Meihana Topia-Paul, Harmony Tuilaepa, Waimarie Watene-Mercep, Shakayne Carroll, Rangi Wano, and Mikaere Wano.

We need to give a special mention to our top performing athletes that have now qualified, by coming 1st or 2nd in their event, for the Canterbury Primary Schools Athletics Sports held on the 4th of December at Nga Puna Wai.

Kah'nal Ngawati - 60m Year 8 Boys - 2nd Place

Arabella Paki - Shotput Year 7 Girls - 1st Place

Heretini Raimona - Discus Year 6 Boys - 1st Place

Everyone that made it to the Pegasus Zones should be very proud of their efforts.  Now we look forward with encouragement and support for our competitors in the Canterbury competition.
