Porters Pass Snow Day
6am is not the usual time that we arrive to school, but I arrived on Tuesday to several whānau ready for our Tuahiwi SKI TRIP.
33 tamariki, 2 kaiako, 6 mātua, and a bus driver made the long journey inland towards Porters Pass. It was such a beautiful day on the mountain with not a cloud in the sky.
Each student received a lesson in the basics of skiing and snowboarding and they were off. Most tamariki stayed on the mountain all day, only leaving it to refuel occasionally.
Many of us found a good spot to climb up and slide down on the learners slope, this part was very steep and ended up being hours of fun for those who had sore feet.
What a fabulous day, we made lifelong memories and had a blast.
