Some of Kiwi class ākonga have had the opportunity to participate in the Primary School Sports - Whaikaha (disability) Play Partnership this term.

The event was run at the Ngā Puna Wai sports facility in Wigram every Thursday from 12pm -1pm for the past 3 weeks.  The children were able to experience modified games of netball, croquet, soccer  and lawn bowls.  The program is designed to bring together young people that might otherwise miss out. It has been designed through a collaboration between Primary Sports Canterbury and the Halberg Foundation, and their keen providers – Canterbury Hockey, Mainland Football, Christchurch Netball Centre, Bowls Canterbury, 9 Round Barrington, Canterbury Basketball, Canterbury Volleyball, Badminton Canterbury, Boccia NZ, Olympia Gymnastics, Affinity Gymnastics, Croquet Canterbury.

We have had lots of fun learning to play these sports and we are looking forward to next terms programme.
