Te Mātāpuna Mātātahi Graduation 2023

Crisanna Nel —

Every year the rōpū of tamariki taking part in Children's University grows at Te Kura o Tuahiwi. This year we had 28 ākonga graduate.

Tamariki had all year to collect at least 30 hours in their passports in order to graduate at The James Hay Theatre in the Christchurch Town Hall.

Ākonga completed a range of learning activities outside of kura hours such as visiting learning destinations around the motu (and even in Australia!) as well as doing online activities around their personal interests. Many ākonga discovered that the 30 hours wasn't difficult to get due to the number of sports and clubs they were already a part of.

Tamariki who managed their 30 hours this year: Lana-Leigh Adams, Blake Anthony, Isaac Anthony, Lukas Bennett, Jesse Berry, Jaxon Cherry, Harrison Forgues, Sebastien Forgues, Lily Kura Pounamu Gamble, Te-Arahi Grenfell, Shontay Kennelly, Kylem Kumeroa- Pokai, Tai Pounamu Mason, Mikae McNaughton, Arapera Nihoniho-Newson, Elegance Samuels, Nikau Tauti, Faith- Kohurereata White

Tamariki who earned 65 hours: Peyton Braam, Ellay Kingi, Trevell Kingi, Luc Nolan, Nga-wawata o te ao Te Huia Te Ripo, Javarn To'oto'o

These two for earning 100 hours: Lily Carmody, Maxwell Carmody

And special mention to Maddison Agi who worked hard to get 270+ hours and a silver diploma over the past two years. Mīharo kē!
