Communication Boundaries

Mel Taite-Pitama —

Our kaimahi at Tuahiwi are open and willing to give our whānau time to kōrero and communicate when needed but please remember they need their personal space and time too.

Almost all of our kaimahi shared their mobile numbers with you over the rāhui / COVID time giving whānau a lot of access to communicate with them at all times.

We have found that some of our whānau have taken advantage of this and have been messaging our staff in their weekends and evenings with an expectation that they will reply.

I ask you to be mindful of this as all of our staff, including our support staff should not be interrupted during their personal time with school business or requests from whānau concerning school matters. It is important that whānau consider this as their private time where school matters can wait until Monday or the following morning when school restarts.

You can consider that a week day work hours are between 8.30am - 5pm and staff should not be contacted in the weekends.

Please be respectful of personal and professional boundaries.
