Board of Trustees Chairperson - Rebecca Stevenson

Tuahiwi School —

Over the next few pānui we will share a little bit about our Board members so you know who the people are that are governing our kura.

Rebecca is our Presiding Member or Chairperson as once known.

Ko Rebecca Stevenson tōku ingoa.

Ko Campbell tōku hoa rangatira

Ko Alexandra rātau ko Bailey, ko Maddie āku tamariki

Nō Ōtautahi ahau.

Rebecca and her whānau have been at Tuahiwi Kura for 15 years - starting in 2007 when Alexandra turned 5 and now has her youngest, Maddie, in Year 6. She has been a member of Mātua Tautoko and has been on the Board of Trustees for 5 years. Rebecca has a real passion and genuine love for her role on the Board as the Presiding Member.

She believe that we have a great group of whānau representatives as they work alongside the Tumuaki, Mel and Staff Representative, Crisanna. She enjoys the great conversations each month and the passion that the board members have about creating a nurturing inclusive environment at kura for all of our tamariki to succeed in everything that they try.

Her background is in office administration and has been doing this for over 25 years (showing her age), but this has always been something she enjoys.

Rebecca and her husband Campbell have an Earthworks company in Flaxton, so the skills she has make her the perfect Office Manager for their business. This mahi enables her to have be working but also flexibility in being available to help at kura easily.

The Campbell whānau have two gorgeous black cats, Krispie and Krumpet, and they keep control of the pest situation. Unfortunately, they like to show the whānau their fare, which can be a bit gross!!

Rebecca loves being a part of the Tuahiwi community and is so glad that she and Campbell chose Tuahiwi kura for their kids
