Bros 4 change
Ten of our tama have spent the past four days over on the Banks Peninsula to begin their six week kaupapa with Bros 4 change.
Bros 4 Change is a programme created and driven by Jaye Pukepuke. The programme has been developed to build confidence, teach resilience, uphold certain values and give the boys time to be together and grow together.
The boys had a four day weekend, full of fun and HARD work! On Sunday Whaea Rachael and some whānau went to visit them. We enjoyed hanging out with them; jumping off the wharf, having a bbq and hearing about some of the things they had been doing. These included; finding and eating huhu grubs, hiking, haka, exercise, cooking, cleaning and kōrero around respect and facing adversity. Our boys arrived home Monday, exhausted but happy!
Every Friday for the next 6 weeks the boys will be working alongside Jaye, Ben and Tyrone. Awesome eh! A huge mihi to the sponsor, Mainpower, whose financial assistance meant this amazing kaupapa could happen.
