It is with excitement that I pen this pānui to you, our whānau as we near the beginning of the kura year for 2021. I'm sure we are all hoping that this year is a better one than  the last and that we are able to have year where COVID is kept at bay.

This is my 4th year as Tumuaki at Tuahiwi kura and I am looking forward to taking the team forward, continuing with excellence and embracing our very unique environment.

Day 1 2020: Ara Ako - Goal Setting Hui

On February 3rd 2020 we will begin the school year with individual whānau Ara Ako hui. This hui is to set goals for your child’s personalised learning plan that our kaiako teach from. You, your child and our kaiako will work together to develop the plan.

Goal setting is a powerful process for thinking about what you need to do, and for motivating yourself to turn your vision of this future into reality.

The process of setting goals helps you choose what you need to work on. By knowing what you want to achieve, you know where you have to concentrate your efforts.

It is important that you are able to attend as a whānau so that we are partnering together to support your child and their learning. We love being able to contribute with you so that we are all working from the same page.

Please follow this link to make a time to meet with your child’s kaiako in 2021 or see Berniece in the office to help you. www.schoolinterviews.co.nz/code and enter the event code t4ym9.

The first day that all tamariki will be at school together will be February the 4th starting at 9am. There will be a mihi whakatau for all new whānau and kaimahi in Tūranga. Please meet Mel in the reception area if you are new to our kura.
