Tuahiwi School

Last year we had a few incidents where our kura property was damaged costing us several hundred dollars that should have been spent on providing our tamariki with assets to make learning better. Please read the article below.

One of our values at Tuahiwi School is kaitiakitanga and for the most our tamariki and whānau uphold this value. However on a few occasions last year things were smashed or broken by individual tamariki on purpose. Our kaitiakitanga value talks about looking after and respecting one another including our property.

Kaitiakitanga:

We will encourage sustainability and practice preservation of our environment for our future generations.

We will respect others, kura and ourselves by encapsulating the notion of guardianship in everything we do.

If your child intentionally damages property at kura we will be investigating and speaking to whānau about recovering any cost to our kura.

Please talk to your tamariki about this so that we don't have to go through the process of recovering costs involved.

If you want to speak to Mel about this please make a time to come in.
