Dot Singh - November 30, 2022
We have had a busy past two weeks with many place based learning haerenga and opportunities throughout the kura. Our tamariki have participated in beach education, QE2 swimming, visited Omihia kura and lots of other fun things.
Firstly ngā mihi nunui to the tamariki who graduated from the Children's University on Tuesday November 22nd. It was such a wonderful experience for our tamariki to be a part of and well done for all the hours you put in.
Junior Athletics was on Wednesday the 23rd of November where our tamariki participated in a variety of field and track events and they all looked amazing dressed in their pou colours.
On Wednesday November 30th,'Te Kura o Tuahiwi' hosted Te Pā o Räkaihautū for a rā whakawhanaungatanga/mahi tahi. We started with a mihi whakatau in Tūranga, sang waiata together and then began a day full of fun activities.
The day was spent alongside the Junior Te Pā students- Puna Hauaitū and our year 5-6 tamariki played a friendly game of rugby league.
We have some very talented tamariki at our kura with skills way beyond their years. A big mihi to Whaea Nush and Whaea Kate who prepared our sausage sizzle and burgers for lunch. Also a big thank you to our Kaiapoi High tamariki who supported leading the different activities that we had organised through NZ sports.
All of our tamariki enjoyed learning together and the independence of being able to choose what activities they wanted to engage in.
Next week on the 9 November is our big day in and we have integrated 'meet the tumuaki' at 12pm and Tuahiwi taonga starting at 2pm. I look forward to meeting those of you whom I may have not yet met and celebrating our Tuahiwi talents.
