Mel Taite-Pitama - April 6, 2021
All kai preparation will be completed on Thursday at kura. If you're keen to help peel potatoes, carrots, cut up pumpkin and cabbage then come along on Thursday to help.
Our fire will be lit on Friday morning at 6am at the marae. We have a small team of men to get the fire sorted but the more the merrier. If you want to help lay the hangi come along to the marae in your gumboots, bring a shovel and a basket ( if you have any) and join us at the fire pit. Our hangi master Rex Gamble will be there to give you a job!
The hangi will be lifted about 12pm ready to be plated up in the kitchen for eating at 12.45pm so we will need whānau in the kitchen helping to carve and serve. We can't do this without whānau support so please find some time to come in and help if you can. :)
The main job though will be the clean up! Many hands make light work so lets all pull together and get the kitchen cleaned up so we can all enjoy hui tamariki!
If you can't join in all day that no problem, even if you can join in for an hour or two you are all welcome!
