NZEI Hui - Early Pick Up Requested Friday 3rd March

Our kaiako have been called to a compulsory union hui on Friday the 3rd of March at Rangiora Borough School. If you have the ability to collect your child/ren at 12.45pm we would really appreciate your support.

We realise this can be inconvenient for you but these meetings are very important for our staff to attend.

Ko te whanaungatanga 'ko te mahi tahi, Working together!'

Tēnā koutou e te whānau We have had a busy last couple of weeks at Te Kura O Tuahiwi. This week we have been looking at our Uara/Value 'Whanaungatanga". I have been working in our akomanga on a Tuesday with our tamariki discussing whanaungatanga and what that looks like, feels like and sounds like. Our tamariki were able to articulate what it means and were able to describe a situation where they themselves displayed whanaungatanga. Paia!

Pipi and Piwakawaka went on a haerenga to Ōruapaeroa where they learnt about our Native wetland plants and birds.

Kererū, Kāhu and Ruru went to Aqualand where they swam in the awa and played on the inflatable obstacle course. A big mihi to Aqualand for allowing our tamariki to participate without any cost. Our tamariki and their kaiako enjoyed themselves.

I want to mihi to our whānau who support us with our haerenga, without you we would not be able to participate in outdoor education and live the experiences that we have had.

Our kaiako are amazing human beings as we all know, They are running different clubs at lunchtime to entertain and keep our tamariki busy e.g. touch rugby and chess club.

Today we hosted our very first hui 'Atawhai', where wellbeing agencies across North Canterbury and further abroad sat around the table in discussion about how we can all work together to provide our tamariki at 'Te Kura O Tuahiwi' and their whānau the best support networks possible. This is mahi tahi in action, working together for the betterment of our Kura.

Have a lovely weekend with your whānau
