Local Curriculum: what are your thoughts?

Ailsa Webb —

Kia ora koutou...Wilford School are reviewing their local curriculum. This has involved revisiting our school values to ensure they represent who we are as a school in 2020. Please email any feedback you have to principal@wilford.school.nz. We are keen to know what our school community think.

Alongside our revised school values, we have developed a framework for teaching and learning at our school. The learning by our tamariki is a journey and this is represented by Te Poutama. This means 'staircase' and represents the journey of learning that each child takes from Year 1 through to Year 8.

Underlying this are our shared values of MARA which means 'garden'. This metaphor represents Wilford School as a place of learning where each child grows on many levels with support from their whanau and school.
