Swim Wise Programme
Thanks to Westview Special Fund for sponsoring our Water Wise Programme in Term 1
This programme was designed specifically for students who had no or little confidence around water.
Lynda Pullman kindly volunteered to help our students to enjoy getting in the water and having fun while teaching them the basic skills needed to float and tread water.

Endeavour Sports Day
After rescheduling from Mid February due to weather, it was touch and go with holding this event due to the PPTA Strike action, but thanks to everyone for supporting the day, it was great to see everyone having so much fun.
A full day of sports - a mix of traditional and non traditional athletics with some extra games thrown in. Finished off with house relays and juicys for everyone before the rain came down.
Sail GP Invitational
With Sail GP competing in Lyttleton in March, Lincoln University setup a programme called Inspire and invited students from schools around Canterbury to meet some of the Sail GP crew and other pro athletes, including All Blacks, Black Ferns, Silver Ferns and Black Caps, many of whom we count amongst our alumni. This was a fantastic opportunity to learn about the life-changing power of sport.
Students were involved in workshops focused on topics such as sustainable ideas for sailing product development, reducing the carbon footprint of the sporting industry, food and nutrition for athletes and local impact projects.
We had 7 students attend the sessions that they all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Students Successes
Charlise Miller - Year 13 student competed at the Morrinsville and Kumeu A&P shows in successive weekends and took out the Champion Senior Rider title for both events. Congratulations - a great accomplishment.
Ryan Booth
Ryan has competed in the last 2 outdoor 50m target shooting comps for the 22/23 season over the weekends of 11th and 12th March. He travelled to Blenheim to compete at the Marlborough Champs and it was his first time at this range & the Marlborough wind was a little more challenging than the Canterbury wind! But Ryan did well with coming 2nd place on Sunday.
Over the weekend of the 18th and 19th March, Ryan competed in the South Island Champs held at McLeans Island. On Saturday was the sweepstake match, where Ryan came 1st in B grade. The SI champs were on Sunday and again Ryan came 1st and also achieved a new Personal Best score of 619.7.
