Science Field Trip to the River

Kaleb Sinclair and Charlie Tasker —

On Wednesday, the best science class (aka Mrs Rangi’s well-being class) went to three spots along the course of the Selwyn river. This was to look at how the species change as the river changes. We started off at lower Selwyn Huts, followed by Coes Ford and finally to Glentunnel. During the day we found many species of water based animals such as Dobsonfly, Caddisflies, Stoneflies, Dragonflies, Mayflies and Cockabillys. The weather was amazing and the water was great. Special thanks to Mrs Rangi for the dairy mish. We would also like to thank Kelvin and Errol from Water Watch.
