Rutherford's Den and Radiology

Monday 14 August, the Year 12 Science class (Mrs Rangi’s wellbeing class) went on an awesome trip into the city. We visited Rutherford's Den in the Art’s Centre, but the main reason we went into town was to visit the Radiology department within Christchurch hospital. The reason that we visited was to learn more about our Radiology topic. We got to listen to one of the Radiologists there and then see all the equipment they use to diagnose and treat cancer. During the day we did many activities within Rutherford’s Den, learning about the Atomic structure and different forms of radiation. We also enjoyed getting ice cream, playing on the playground, visiting the hospital and getting McDonalds. There was also lots of singing in the van on the way home with Mrs Rangi.
