Year 7 students making the most of the first day of spring

From the Principal, Term 3 Week 6

The start of spring - good times and some reminders

Kia ora koutou

Our students will enjoy a day without uniform on Friday in support of the Cancer Society, Daffodil Day. This is a particularly poignant and relevant theme for us this year and we appreciate your support. I’d also like to thank our student leaders and Elaine Guy for making this happen.

It was lovely to read a letter about our students from Coral Bramley in the Malvern News. Coral captured some of the amazingly positive qualities of our students which you do not find everywhere. It is easy to feel doom and gloom about ‘the youth of today’, and many other things, but actually we are blessed with a wonderful community and very favourable living conditions here.

The warm week has been great for the spirits - breaks have been much more fun as you’ll see in the photo. Next week is Exam Week for senior students so they will study from home all week. If you have a child in Years 11 - 13, please ensure you’ve read the instructions from DP Matt Maude.

Our Board elections are in full swing so please take the time to vote if you’re a parent. The Board sets your school’s direction and monitors progress so it has a very important role.

Finalising our uniform review has been quite a nightmare but it is getting very close to conclusion and I expect an announcement next week.

Mauri ora,

Andy England
