1DTG - Level 1 Digital Technology
Digital Technologies is the start of developing problem solving and design skills to help you in any career. Learn the fundamentals of web design and programming to help kickstart your digital career.
Pick an area of DTG you are passionate about to take a deep dive into designing an outcome of your choice.

1FDT - Level 1 Food Technology
A hands-on, creative subject that encourages ākonga to explore the three strands of technology through the design and creation of fit-for-purpose outcomes.

1FDH - Level 1 Food Technology with Hospitality
A practical LEVEL 1 course that utilises using Hospitality Unit Standards with up to 21 Credits. Students will prepare and cook food items during most lessons.
There are two sections to the course:
Section 1: Hospitality Career Pathways; Cookery of Meat, Fruits, and Vegetables, and Egg and Cheese Dish Food; Sauces and Soups; Cake Sponge and Scones and Knives
Section 2: Hot Finger Food; Sauces and Soups; Cake, Sponge and Scones and Knives
Credits: Up to 21 Internal credits (Unit Standards)

1MEC - Level 1 Mechanical Technology
This is a Level 1 Achievement Standard course with a focus on construction in the engineering workshop. The theme will be some form of storage that the student will design to suit a stakeholder’s wishes.
Credits: 16 credits
Leads to: Level 2 and 3 Construction Mechanical Technologies and Mechanical Trades

1CON - Level 1 Construction Technology
This course is to encourage students to design and construct their own project in the context of a workshop. The student will learn to use appropriate materials in a safe manner. This course is open but prior knowledge in design and construction would be helpful.
Credits: 17 BCITO Unit standards.
Leads to: This could help lead to a trade career or design opportunities in the future.

2DTG - Level 2 Digital Technology
Digital Technologies in Year 12 is the next step from Digital Technologies in Year 11. This course focuses more on the front end of the development of digital outcomes. You will find a client to create a website for and further develop your design skills to create a more functional website.
You will also have the opportunity to develop your conceptual design skills by creating a character for an online game. Taking into account stakeholders and end users.

2COP - Level 2 Computer Programming
Computer Programming is the next step up from Digital Technologies in Year 11 if your passion is developing programs and may be looking at a career as a software developer or engineer.
This course goes deeper into Python programming to give you a greater understanding. You will also explore prototyping to test whether an idea will make a viable outcome. Lastly, you will explore your passion and create a digital outcome of your choice, this is your chance to follow your passion!
Credits: 16 Internal Credits and 3 External Credits

2MEC - Level 2 Mechanical Engineering Technology
The course represents a set of foundation skills for mechanical engineering and related trades. Technology Achievement Standards are also offered for those students wishing to study Technology at Level 3 and in higher education. The credits can be used for the first stages of an apprenticeship or the basis for a pre-trade course at a tertiary college.
Credits: 10 Internal Credits and 4 External Credits.
Leads to: Technology Achievement Standards at Level 2 can carry Merit and Excellence endorsements and qualify for University Entrance.

2CON - Level 2 Construction Technology
This is a level 2 course with a focus on construction in the wood workshop. The theme will be outdoor furniture that the student can design to suite, a theme of their choice.

3COP - Level 3 Computer Programming

3MEC - Level 3 Mechanical Engineering
This course is designed to develop students’ technological knowledge in preparation for further study or University Entrance. Students will focus on the rapid development of design ideas using computer-aided design, programmable microprocessors, and advanced workshop skills.
Credits: 10 - 14 Internal Credits and 4 External Credits.
Leads to: University Approved. Tertiary study in Engineering/Design/ Technology.

BCITO Level 3 Building Academy
The BCITO Level 3 Building Academy is geared towards the development of young allied tradespeople in their final year of secondary education by preparing them for the expectations of starting work in the construction industry as apprentices.
