Smoke Free RockQuest

On Saturday 10 June, three groups of students from Darfield took on the challenge of competing against Canterbury's top 18 high school bands. It is fair to say they did not disappoint! On the night, Caesium, MC1R and Bad Revivals put on a show that we could not have asked any more of them. They engaged with the crowd and had them jumping out of their seats.

It was a proud moment for everyone of the Darfield supporters as they all screamed and cheered our resident bands on. Out of all the bands, no bias observed in this comment, they out performed in my opinion every other band that turned up. At the end of the day, you are absolute superstars.

Congratulations to Bad Revivals who placed second overall. They won some money to spend at the Rock Shop and the chance to get through to the National competition on 16 September. They have to submit a video of three original songs to be judged by a panel of musicians from the music industry, where they compete to get into the top 30 bands in the country, These 30 video submissions are then sent off to another set of judges who will then choose the top 10.
