The mighty Butterflies come out on top at STAC!

Go the Butterflies!

The Butterflies Basketball team have won their first game of the season, defeating the STAC Queens 50-10 on Friday night at STAC. The girls were thrilled with their win after a rough start to the season, falling in their first three outings.

Brooke Ebdon-Collings was the scoring leader for the Butterflies, pacing the team with a season-high 20-point performance. Our defense was another key to the game, where Lani Atutolu and Grace McPhee denied STAC at the rim all game long, and giving them no second chances on their misses.

In the post-game press conference, Coach Andy Lee addressed the media by stating he was very proud of the girls resilience given their first few games and enjoyed the spirit in which they played. Their skill level is growing rapidly and they're an absolute pleasure to coach.

It was the also the first game in our new kits, kindly sponsored by Ratana Restaurant & Pizzeria in Rolleston.

The girls hit the road again on Friday night heading to Hagley Community College, looking for a second victory.
