A message from the Board of Trustees

As a Board we wanted to acknowledge to our school community – students, staff and parents – that we appreciate that things are pretty tough right now. Strike actions, education reforms, ongoing occurrences of Covid, and cost of living pressures are just some of the issues placing huge strains on our kura and whanau. Most of these things are not in our control but we all bear the brunt in different ways. In particular, we acknowledge the additional impact of recent strike action, and appreciate all you are doing to maintain as much normalcy for our ākonga as possible.

We ask that individually and collectively we try to focus on the things that hold us together and enrich our lives, ensuring we continue to respect each other and the different views we may hold.

We’ll be out and about at the upcoming Matariki event that’s being pulled together so valiantly by staff and students given such adversity – next Thursday 22 June from 3.30 pm. And in Term 3 (hopefully during more settled times!) we’ll be asking how you think we’re doing on delivering against our renewed vision and values. Please come and chat to us, stay connected and let us know what more you think we can be doing.
