Mr Quinn Takes On Queenstown

For the past 10 years Mr Quinn aka, "bestie'' has been taking Year 13 Geography to Queenstown for the Luma Lights festival or, in previous years, the Winterfest and what a trip! Started off with a 8.30 am departure from school. Six hours on the road with some pit stops along the way and we finally made it to Queenstown. We unpacked and straight back on the road to go and buy dinner ingredients. The Masterchef competition was hilarious although Mr Quinn still hasn't confirmed the tacos won. After dinner we settled in for the night, very thankful for the heaters not so thankful for the 2 am smoke alarm drill.

Early the next morning and we were off on our first activity, listening to speakers educate us on Queenstown and the tourism industry. Our trusty uber driver (Mr Quinn) drove us to AJ Hackett Bungy & Ziplining. Four of us decided we would face the bungy and jump off the 43m bridge. After all the excitement back home we went to glam up for the White and Wongs dinner we were all looking forward to. YUM! We had everything from mocktails to prawn crackers, dumplings, fried chicken, pork belly, and an incredible green curry. The next morning we cruised into the Hilton Hotel. After looking around and all agreeing it would be worth sneaking out to stay there for the night, we then headed off to Arrowtown. Back into Queenstown, some of us braved up again and headed into the pitch black corridor of the Fear Factory. I'm not sure what was funnier, actually doing it, or looking at the photos after. We were lucky enough to experience the Luma Lights Festival and be spoken to by the organiser of the Festival, Craig. Getting the information and resources will really help us in our Internal which we will be completing sometime in the next few weeks.

The amount of fun we all had as a group and the life long memories that were made will stay with us, If I'm honest it didn't even feel like a school trip. Four days of pure fun, hilarity, and just good times. The Year 13 Geo and Tourism class would like to thank Mr Quinn and Ms Dawson for giving up their time and taking us away for the four days and putting up with our craziness! It's been one awesome trip so thank you.
