Antarctica Heritage Trust Camp

Young Inspiring Explorers Summit

The camp had 25 kids selected from all around New Zealand to learn about Antarctica. I was selected after doing interviews and questions. Before going we had to do tasks that they assigned you, about Antarctica. One of them was making icebergs.

I really like being around people who are really interested in the stuff around Antarctica. It really encourages you to be your best and help you learn heaps about Antarctica.

We got to do a lot of fun things like making a volcano, playing with dry ice, going on the hagglund rides, playing with husks, meeting penguins, walking around central Christchurch, we did clothes races and going to the University of Canterbury. It was great making new friends, I made 10 new friends in 3 days.

My favourite part was the Antarctica centre trip. We had so much fun, we met penguins, went on the hagglunds, played with huskies and went into the storm room. But overall everything was great and so much fun.
