Ko Wai Au? | Who am I?

Fourteen of our Year 7 and 8 students participated in Ko Wai Au? (Who am I?) over the past nine weeks. This programme is targeted at supporting Māori students to delve deeply into their whakapapa, helping them gain a strong sense of identity and belonging.

One group of students worked with harakeke(flax) and created carvings for their whānau. The other group built on previous learning by creating vision boards representing their whakapapa, and linking to Te Whare Tapa Wha Health Model.

We're very proud of these students and their mahi! We are also very grateful to Damion, Makera and Sharon for travelling out from Mana Ake/Purapura Whetu in Christchurch to deliver this programme each week.
